Growing up playing both inline and ice hockey gave me the chance to develop my skills in many different ways and I firmly believe inline hockey made me more skilled and is a major reason for my success on the ice. Hockey Is Hockey is a great event to recognize that and pay tribute to all forms of hockey that we played during our childhood.
Hockey Is Hockey is a great celebration of the game and is exposure for the sport, giving kids an opportunity to put a hockey stick in their hands and reach another level. This is what it's all about.
As a former NHL player, it’s great to see a local community event such as Hockey Is Hockey pay tribute to the game we all love and I’m happy to be a part of it. Whether it’s on the ice, putting on the wheels, or just shooting around, we love this game and an event like this unites all of us.
There is a deep hockey history here on Long Island and it is great to see the love and passion still going strong. Whether it be ice hockey, roller hockey, or dek hockey, players from our area are making it to the highest levels and that should be known. It doesn’t matter if you are doing it on the ice, on the wheels or in your sneakers, HOCKEY is HOCKEY!
